The third edition of the Asia Sustainable Supply + Circular Economy Expo was held at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center from November 3 to 5. The 2022 TASS Expo focused on achieving net-zero emissions and putting sustainability into practice. It is Taiwan's only platform dedicated to sustainable supply-chain solutions and connects suppliers with buyers alongside the exhibition. The event has become one of Asia's most influential and Taiwan's largest platforms for circular economy and ESG solutions.

 

For three consecutive years, Transcene has showcased its circular-economy innovations and products at the expo for customers across different industries. This year, Transcene became one of the event's media highlights through the expo's unique matchmaking platform. Two years earlier, Transcene began working with ASE to use its proprietary technology to recover discarded epoxy molding compound and convert it into high-quality spherical silica for industrial fillers. The collaboration addressed the semiconductor packaging industry's annual disposal of approximately 5,000 tons of waste molding compound. The technology also received the Model Award in the Innovation Technology category of the Taiwan Circular Economy Awards in September.

 

With ASE's support and encouragement, Transcene further partnered with Pintec Technology to develop a process that converts spherical silica back into molding compound for use in semiconductor packaging. This achieved a genuine cradle-to-cradle circular model, and the product passed ASE's preliminary certification. At the expo, Transcene, ASE, and Pintec jointly presented the results of their waste molding-compound recycling and pellet remanufacturing technology. Although the presentation was a brief five-minute pop-up session, it was the world's first public presentation of the technology, drew extensive coverage from industry reporters, television news, and Japanese media, and affirmed Transcene's continued progress and achievements in the circular economy.
