Transcene's Central Taiwan Science Park plant earns the Taiwan Green Building Label, creating a sustainable model factory on the path to a low-carbon future.
Transcene's Central Taiwan Science Park plant, located in the Taichung zero-waste manufacturing park, obtained the Taiwan Green Building Label in 2024, a professional recognition of the company's efforts in sustainable architecture and environmentally friendly facilities. In its architectural design, the plant adopts a high-efficiency building envelope, using thermal insulation materials, ventilation planning and natural daylighting to effectively reduce cooling loads and lighting demand. In addition, the plant's electrical and mechanical systems incorporate high-efficiency energy-saving equipment, including variable-frequency air compressors, energy-efficient motors and insulated, heat-reducing plant design, improving energy efficiency and significantly lowering overall energy consumption compared with conventional plants.
Water conservation is another key highlight of the certification. Transcene has introduced rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling systems, reusing non-process water for irrigation and cleaning and effectively reducing tap water consumption. Permeable paving and eco-friendly landscaping around the site reduce surface runoff and improve the ecological quality of the site, delivering both landscape and environmental benefits.
For the indoor environment, the plant places great importance on employee health, using low-VOC building materials, improving air exchange efficiency, and providing well-designed ventilation and lighting to create a more comfortable workplace that meets modern industry expectations for a healthy workplace.
