TSMC held a commercial transfer ceremony for the Taichung Zero Waste Manufacturing Center on November 13. Together with green technology partners such as Transcene, it established four major recycling and treatment plants including a silica sludge recycling plant. Transcene separates the solid and liquid phases of silica sludge through drying, roasting, impregnation and other processes. The solid phase is re-dried and surface modified to generate ore powder, which can be used in industrial applications such as plastics and ceramics. The liquid product is extracted into copper sulfate, which can be used as a common industrial raw material.
