Transcene Corp. Wins Bronze Award at the 8th National Enterprise Environmental Protection Awards
Advancing the Circular Economy and High-Value Resource Recovery Through Innovative Technologies
TAIWAN, November 2, 2026 — Transcene Corp. was honored with the Bronze Award in the Manufacturing Category at the Ministry of Environment’s 8th National Enterprise Environmental Protection Awards, recognizing the company’s outstanding achievements in circular economy development, resource recovery, and sustainable manufacturing.
On November 2, 2026, Chairman Steven Chen was invited to the Presidential Office to receive recognition from the President. The award ceremony was also held on the same day at the Excellence Hall of the Civil Service Development Institute.
This year, 126 enterprises participated in the awards. Following multiple stages of evaluation, including preliminary review, group review, on-site inspections, and final selection, 65 enterprises were recognized. Transcene’s achievement reflects its continued commitment to transforming industrial waste into valuable resources through innovative circular technologies.
Transcene specializes in circular economy solutions, resource recovery, and the development of high-value regenerated materials. By integrating technological innovation with industrial applications, the company is turning waste into resources and creating new value across industries.
In addition, Transcene collaborated with TAY SONG ENTERPRISE CO., LTD. to develop the “SilicStep” silicon crystal slippers, which received the 2025 German iF Design Award. This collaboration demonstrates the potential of circular materials in innovative consumer products and highlights how resource recovery can create new value beyond traditional industrial applications.
The company achieves 100% recirculation of process and cooling water, with zero industrial wastewater discharge. Through optimized production scheduling and the coordination of batch and continuous operations, the company reduces energy consumption. Defective products are recovered and reprocessed, while collected dust is returned to the production process. Packaging materials, including bulk bags and wooden pallets, are also reused to establish a closed-loop resource management system.
These practices demonstrate Transcene’s commitment to integrating resource efficiency and waste reduction into everyday manufacturing operations.
Through technological innovation and resource regeneration, the carbon footprint of recycled silicon ingots has been reduced from 10.00 kg CO₂e/kg to 1.15 kg CO₂e/kg, representing an approximately 89% reduction.
In 2025, the company produced 2,025 metric tons of recycled silicon ingots, with an estimated annual carbon reduction potential of 17,921 metric tons of CO₂e. This achievement demonstrates the environmental benefits of cross-industry resource circulation and the potential of recycled materials to support industrial decarbonization.
Guided by its sustainability philosophy of “Low Carbon × Zero Waste × Circular Economy,” Transcene will continue to leverage technological innovation to reduce resource consumption and environmental impact, contributing to Taiwan’s 2050 net-zero transformation and a more sustainable global future.

1. Developing Recycled Spherical Silica Powder to Provide Low-Carbon and Plastic-Reduction Alternatives
Through urban mining and proprietary recycling technologies, Transcene transforms waste epoxy molding compound (EMC) from semiconductor packaging processes into high-value Spherical Silica Powder. The recycled material has obtained UL 2809 verification for 100% recycled content and can be used in applications including electronics and coatings.
2. Implementing Zero-Waste Goals Through Sustainable Factory Management
Transcene incorporates circular economy principles into its production planning and factory management, striving to minimize resource consumption and waste generation. The company achieves 100% recirculation of process and cooling water, with zero industrial wastewater discharge. Through optimized production scheduling and the coordination of batch and continuous operations, the company reduces energy consumption.
