2026-7-30 TASS and Transcene Successfully Co-host the Solar Panel Recycling and Circular Economy Forum
On July 30, 2026, the TTASS and Transcene successfully co-hosted the Solar Panel Recycling and Circular Economy Forum at the Bijen International Conference Hall, National Taiwan University Zhubei Campus. The forum brought together experts and professionals from government, industry, academia, and research institutions to explore innovative approaches to end-of-life solar panel recycling and circular economy development.
Background
With the rapid growth of solar energy installations worldwide, the recycling and reuse of end-of-life photovoltaic (PV) panels have become increasingly important to the development of a circular economy. To encourage industry collaboration and technological exchange, the forum invited experts from various fields to share insights on domestic and international PV recycling policies, the latest technological developments, and emerging market opportunities.

Dr. Ya-Min Hsieh, General Manager of Transcene, delivered a keynote presentation on the challenges and opportunities surrounding solar panel waste recycling and resource recovery. She also shared how circular economy business models can unlock new commercial opportunities while supporting sustainable industrial development.
Dr. Chih-Sheng Chuang, Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology at National Formosa University, presented an innovative application of intact recycled glass recovered from end-of-life solar panels for use in agricultural greenhouse construction.
