2023/08/23 The National Development Fund injects funding into the startup companies, Transcene Crop. in the Business Angel Investment Program to present its achievements
To enhance the mechanism of the startup business investment market, the National Development Fund established the Business Angel Investment Program, which provides initial and subsequent operational funding for early-stage startups. When Transcene Crop. was founded in 2019, it received approval for this program and received investment to support its entrepreneurial endeavors. On August 23rd, the National Development Fund organized the "Business Angel Investment Program Results Presentation," inviting 12 investment entities participating in the program, including Transcene Crop., to attend. This event aimed not only to share startup experiences but also to facilitate matchmaking between investors and startups for future investment and collaboration opportunities.
Dr. Hsieh Ya-Min, the CEO, and Senior Manager Liang Tung-Chi represented Transcene Crop. at the event. Dr. Hsieh introduced the company's startup journey and current development to the attendees, and during the exhibition, she also played the role of a sales representative. She introduced the company's mature product, spherical silica dioxide, which offers users a net-zero carbon option, to Minister Kung Ming-Hsin of the National Development Council, government officials, and media reporters. Attendees highly praised and expressed interest in the functional characteristics and commercial value of the uniform and pure white spherical silica dioxide, especially in applications such as coatings and 3D printing.
Furthermore, Dr. Hsieh explained that Transcene Crop. continues to develop new technologies and has obtained cooperation opportunities with the TSMC Central Taiwan Science Park for the recycling and reprocessing of plant sludge. With TSMC's diverse locations, these technologies can be replicated in Hsinchu, Tainan, and even overseas facilities in the United States and Japan. It is anticipated that additional source factories will be added in the future, fostering collaborations with more enterprises to jointly advance the circular economy.
